If you’re going to San Francisco….” make sure you check out the Rackspace office off of Folsom! There you will find the technically saavy and brilliant minds of our SFO Rackers. I can honestly say that I felt smarter just being in this office. The Rackers working there were not only friendly and welcoming but they are passionate about the work they are doing!
At first glance, the office seems really quiet… I mean REALLY quiet. The reason being is that our engineers and developers are zoned in and writing hundreds of thousands of lines of code for our cloud products. I got the opportunity to sit with a few of the guys and gals working on the Monitoring as a Service and REACH projects and I can tell you that I was completely impressed with the work they are doing. These Rackers take so much pride in their work. They fed off each other’s talent and challenged one another’s ideas to make them greater. They eat, breathe, and sleep the cloud!
When they do unplug from the work that they are doing they are riding their bikes down by the bay area, spend time at multiple hack-a-thons and enjoy the occasional ping pong game. The office has sparks of graffiti art designed by its very own Rackers. There are Chinese lanterns, international flags hanging, Robert Scoble’s media center and Nerf gun darts scattered across the desks. All in all I had a fantastic visit with my fellow Rackers. I want to thank them for introducing me to the Fried Chicken and Waffle sandwich. No regular sandwich will ever do it for me again!
