When I got to the Castle parking lot I could see a ton of Rackers geared up in their running shorts, iPods, and Rackspace t-shirts ready to take in the run. Racker parents came ready with their racing strollers and all the kids were getting energized and pumped up as they anticipated the run! I have to say that it was so cute to see all of the little kids stretching and running around!
The whole goal of this event was to get Rackers and their families participating in a healthy activity while having some fun. I believe the event’s purpose achieved its success on that day! One of the best aspects of this run was the fact that the whole family could enjoy it. Lanham (our CEO) even brought his whole family to partake in the fun. How many other companies can say that about their CEO?
The “friends and family” core value that we hold so dear as Rackers truly showed this weekend. Rackers encouraged each other during the race, volunteers handed out water throughout the course and everyone was cheering for their fellow runners, walkers, and joggers at the finish line. No one got left behind. That’s the beauty of Rackspace!
The Rackspace Wellness Committee did a fantastic job of putting this event together, especially Tanya Ruyle, Ric Jimenez and Sugar Bear. I can’t wait till next year’s event!
