What do root beer floats, bubble blowing and hula-hoop contests have to do with work?

And So It Begins…

It all started with an idea to have ice cream the day after Memorial Day, as a way to celebrate the unofficial start to summer.  From there, a small idea became a BIG PLAN – and one, that while very exciting, we weren’t entirely sure we could pull off!  But, the call for greatness-in-play was louder than the call to complacency.

We thought “Why not have something special EVERY DAY this summer?

Why not have salsa bars and water balloons and cotton candy and lemonade stands?

Why not celebrate the season in such a big way that it seemed slightly over-enthusiastic…. slightly, um, fanatical?”

And so it began… the Blacksburg HR team is showering Blacksburg Rackers (our customers) with a Fanatical Summer of Fun!

We kicked off Summer with software developers blowing bubbles and afternoon popsicle breaks.  We’re going to keep this going all summer – every day right up through Labor Day.  We’ll chronicle it here, so you can share in all our messy, fun, summer glory.  Because as much as being a Racker means hard-work it also means hard-play.  And sometimes, hard-play takes the form of a limbo.
