I have been a member of Rack Gives Back since the beginning. For the past year I have had the rewarding opportunity of helping plan and organize blood drives with the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center in San Antonio.
Rackspace hosts four blood drives per year at our San Antonio offices. The most recent blood drive was April 26, 2011, and was another huge success. In the span of one day, Rackers donated 100 units of blood. Since every donation is split into three individual units for patients in need, this means that our San Antonio Rackers were able to donate enough blood to potentially save 300 lives!
This was Rackspace’s 31st blood drive since June of 2004. In that time, Rackers have donated 1,572 life-saving units of blood.
I am so proud of our Rackers for really making a difference and saving lives in our city! Save the date for the next drive – August 23, 2011!
