It’s been a good fight Rackers. Not to mention how much fun we had in the process!
As Rackers, we’re used to putting in long hours, supporting our teams, and showing how fanatical we are!
The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is a cause very dear to a lot of our hearts. Some of our mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, and co-workers have all been affected by cancer. 1.3 million people (not just ladies) are diagnosed each year. This race is proof that there is power in numbers! It also highlights the basic human desire to help our fellow man.
The Komen fundraiser was nothing short of a miracle. Team Captain Meagan Siddiqui committed to greatness, and with an army of devoted Rackers, rose to the occasion and raised over $13,000 for breast cancer research in the San Antonio area. Aside from the financial contribution, we had 120 team members taking part in the race, 90 of which were Rackers.
To turn a good story into a great story, we had unprecedented financial support from our Chairman Graham Weston, CEO Lanham Napier, Co-Founder Pat Condon, and President of Cloud Lew Moorman. Lew even laced up his running shoes and ran the race with Team Rackspace.
Stay tuned: we have plans in the works for an even larger fund raising effort next year!
