Due to the Managed Colocation Team’s relentless love for animals, we were naturally driven to the Animal Defense League for our recent team outing. Thinking at first we were just going to run around with cute puppies and kittens all day, it turned out to be so much more for us than that.
We started our day with Rocsy, one of the staff members, learning about the history of ADL and touring their beautiful 12 acre facility. We then split up – some of us walking dogs in their dog park, bathing animals, and spending time in the cattery. These animals were so excited to have someone there to spend time with them and of course, we all fell instantly in love with them all. Since we could not bring every animal home with us, we were already asking half way into our visit how we can volunteer regularly.
I would encourage any Racker to consider the Animal Defense League as their next service project or to even just volunteer individually. Even though ADL does a phenomenal job taking care of these animals, they can always use the extra help to give them the TLC these pets need and deserve. And who knows, you may go home with a new, cuddly addition to your family.
