On Tuesday, April 27th, Rackspace opened it’s doors to members of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) and professionals in the community to introduce them to our people, culture and business.
Per the NSHMBA website:
“The National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) was created in 1988 as a non-profit organization. Widely known as the “Premier Hispanic Organization,” NSHMBA serves 32 chapters and 8,000 members in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. It exists to foster Hispanic leadership through graduate management education and professional development. NSHMBA works to prepare Hispanics for leadership positions throughout the U.S., so that they can provide the cultural awareness and sensitivity vital in the management of the nation’s diverse workforce.”
With over 60 individuals in attendance, we were lucky enough to build new relationships over chips and queso (something we are quite fond of here in San Antonio). It was great to see Rackers interact with our guests as handshakes and business cards were exchanged freely.
Two representatives from Rackspace shared their stories about working on our team and gave a brief overview about what we do as an organization. Naturally, we are always hoping to attract top talent, so it was a great opportunity to share our story with an ambitious group.
Providing Rackers with opportunities to build relationships outside their comfort zones is key to our success. When we encounter someone that is ‘different’ to ourselves, we can learn new things about the world and expand our own perspectives.
By building our relationships to include everyone’s differences, we are able to interact with a variety of customers of all backgrounds and clearly understand their needs. With all of these different outlooks and diverse problem-solving approaches, the company holds true to our Core Value of Fanatical Support®. Keep it up Rackers!
On a side note, Sugarbear (Larry Reyes) was the VJ for the evening and, as always, kept it lively! Hopefully we can get Sugarbear to blog soon as he is constantly getting involved with exciting projects for Rackers!
A special thanks to all of you that attended! We had a great time getting to know you and hope to host you again soon in the near future.
